Culture Media
Alfarsi Medical Supplies is one of the best Culture Media Suppliers and Dealers in Oman, Muscat. In our Laboratory division we carry culture media used in microbiological laboratories to grow different kinds of microorganisms. We offer a very broad range of media formulations, standard media & customer specified media in dehydrated form for use in different fields. This also includes specified media by various pharmacopoeias recommended for different applications such as sterility testing, microbial limit tests.
Incubator
An incubator is a device used to grow and maintain microbiological cultures or cell cultures. The incubator maintains optimal temperature, humidity and other conditions such as the CO2 and oxygen content of the atmosphere inside.

Inoculation Loop
An inoculation loop, also called a smear loop, inoculation wand or microstreaker, is a simple tool used mainly by microbiologists to pick up and transfer a small sample (inoculum) from a culture of microorganisms, e.g. for streaking on a culture plate.

Laminar Flow Cabinet
Laminar flow cabinets are used in laboratories for contamination sensitive processes like plant tissue culture. Other laboratories processes like media plate preparation and culture of organisms can be performed inside the cabinet. Operations of particle sensitive electronic devices are performed inside the cabinet.

Analytical Balance
An analytical balance may be required for weighing out trace elements such as copper and zinc. If a smaller amount of culture media is required, care must be taken to correctly recalculate the ingredient quantities and a balance with a higher readability may be required in order to fulfil accuracy requirements.

Autoclave
Autoclaves provide a physical method for disinfection and sterilization. Autoclaves operate at high temperature and pressure in order to kill microorganisms and spores. They are used to decontaminating certain biological waste and sterilize media, instruments and lab ware.

Bunsen Burner
A Bunsen burner is also used in microbiology laboratories to sterilize pieces of equipment and to produce an updraft that forces airborne contaminants away from the working area.

Centrifuge
A centrifuge is used to separate particles suspended in a liquid according to particle size and density, viscosity of the medium, and rotor speed. Within a solution, gravitational force will cause particles of higher density than the solvent to sink, and those less dense than the solvent to float to the top.

Colony Counter
Colony counters are used to estimate a liquid culture's density of microorganisms by counting individual colonies on an agar plate, slide, mini gel, or Petri dish.

Deep Freezer
Many bacteria can be preserved very effectively by freeze drying. By freezing the cells in a medium that contains a lyoprotectant (usually sucrose) and then pulling the water out using a vacuum (sublimation), cells can be effectively preserved.

Homogenizer
First and foremost, the purpose of homogenization is to reduce the size of the particles making up a sample. In simple terms, it's a bit like taking a boulder and smashing it into gravel, except, in this case, the gravel pieces would be all the same size and shape.
