Thermoforming Masterclass and Indirect bonding setup – alfarsi.me and DB Orthodontics conducts training for dental lab technicians and orthodontists

Day 1 of the course was focused on building the delegates thermoforming skills, and advance their knowledge in the fabrication of thermoformed materials. The course covered theoretical aspects and practical aspects of fabricating of the appliances. All the participants were also involved in a practical hands-on workshop constructing orthodontic retainer, bleaching tray, sports mouthguard and bruxism guard.

 

The training programme was attended by 14 orthodontists and 35 DSAs and dental technicians from from private and government sectors and was held at alfarsi.me Training Centre at Misfah, Muscat. The course was led by Mr. Ed Payne, Senior Chief Instructor in Orthodontics at the Eastman Dental Institute, London, UK.

 

On the Day 2 of the course, Ed Payne, the internationally regarded expert in dental technology covered orthodontic laboratory skills to help the participants further their knowledge on indirect-boding set up. The presentation was followed by a hands-on workshop which provided participants with an opportunity to set-up and indirect bonding set-up.

 

The course contents also covered various aspects of dental lab technology such as use of vacuum forming process, pressure forming machines and use of different thermoforming plastics for the dental laboratory.
